We were very fortunate to be able to speak to a local man today, Mr. Billings, and learn more about WW1.  Mr. Billings has been to Europe to learn more about his interest in WW1.  He has written a book about the local people of Thirsk and Sowerby who fought in the war and their families. We learned more about the trenches and tools the soldiers used. Mr. Billings brought some WW1 artifacts to show us.  Also we learned about how young the soldiers were when they went to fight.
