Science – dissolving and melting

In Science this week, we did an experiment on dissolving and melting different materials.  First, we predicted and explained whether the materials would dissolve or melt and then recorded it in our Science books.  After that, we did the experiment in groups and then finally we recorded our results and conclusion.

Science

We have been learning about the properties and changes of different materials in science this morning! Several different materials were used and we had to test if they were magnetic, transparent, hard …..After the experiment we recorded our results in our science books and discussed them as a class.

World Book Day

It was one of our favourite days today!  We love World Book Day as we can dress up and get to read more books as well as share our favourite books with the rest of our classmates.  We had an assembly about reading and sang a World Book Day song!

Plant Competition

Designing a small plant container was our task this week using three plants, compost and our imagination!  We are hoping to win the competition which is called “In the Jar-den.”It is run by Harrogate Flower Shows at Newby Hall, in Ripon near Harrogate.

Hambleton Athletic Finals!

This week we travelled by bus to Catterick for the Hambleton Athletics Finals !  We competed against other schools and we were really proud to come 7th !  People commented on how hard we tried and how our behaviour was so good – we are always glad to hear good feedback and take it back to school for our teachers to hear.

Music

February13

We have been rocking this week to different rock music.  We have been singing and playing the glockenspiel. Miss Merifield thought we had lovely voices!

 

We Came Second !

February13

We came second this morning in a sports competition at Northallerton Leisure Centre, competing against other local schools including Allanbrooke, Great Smeaton and Romanby. We all had an amazing time and our teachers said they were very proud of us for trying our best and being well behaved and polite to everyone.

Completed Cubes!

We’ve finished! Take a look at our competed cubes.  We feel really proud of ourselves for completing our cubes and we think they look amazing.  We used sewing machines to construct the cube and then hand sewed the final edge after filling them with stuffing. Take a look…

Equality

February6

This week we have been learning about equality.  We know it is only right to include anyone regardless of their race, sex, any disability, age or religion. In our our school we include everybody.

Yesterday, we listened to Mrs. Hen talking about equality in assembly and she read us a story about equality too!
